Rebecca Droigk, ASL
Class Description
This class is an introduction to American Sign Language (ASL), taught by a nationally certified ASL interpreter. No previous knowledge of ASL is required. The class will introduce students to basic grammar, vocabulary, fingerspelling (ASL alphabet), numbers, and a taste of Deaf culture. We will focus our units on vocabulary that will be useful to kids interacting with their world such as: greetings, animals, family and home, colors, food, simple conversational phrases, etc. These will be taught in a fun and interactive hands-on experience using games, small group activities, videos, and lectures. All classes are non-sectarian and open to every student regardless of background.

About Me
I’m a professional sign language interpreter working in the community in a variety of settings. I love kids and I love ASL and am excited to teach more people to love the language. I‘ve been married for 16 years to my awesome hubby, John, and we have one daughter in 2nd grade, and two cats. :) In my free time I love to read, play the piano, and hang with my family.
